In laser welding Process, because of its high energy density, it could form a big ratio which penetration depth to penetration width. Added the welding line has a small heat affect Zone and a perfect appearance, laser welding has been more and more popular in weld field. Recent years, with the mature and industrialization of the fiber laser technology, high-power laser market dominated by CO2 laser is suffering severe impacts and challenges. All kinds of high-power fiber laser processing equipments are pouring into our sight. As a new laser source, fiber laser welding technology naturally becomes people's research hotspot.0Cr19Ni9 is the most widely used a nickel - chrome stainless steel, which has good corrosion resistance, heat resistance, low temperature strength and mechanical properties. In this paper, the fiber laser tailor-welded experiment was carried out on the thickness of 6mm 304 stainless steel (0Cr19Ni9) by orthogonal experimental method, The influence of the parameters including laser power, welding speed and the defocusing distance on the quality and surface morphology of the welding line were investigated, and the experimental results were analyzed combined with the theory of laser deep penetration welding. Meanwhile, the tensile property of the test piece was measured. Through all of this, we finally find out the best laser welding process parameters for 6mm stainless steel.The experimental result shows that good welding quality can be achieved although there is gap between the two welding parts. The measurement result illustrates that the tensile strength of welding seam is as same as that of base material.The paper also introduces a new kind of laser welding equipment-laser welding robot system. Laser welding robot system is mainly uses the robot's spatial motion strength and characteristics of flexible transmission of fiber laser to achieve auto body covering's welding. The main research contents about the control system of the equipment in this paper are listed as follows:(1) The designing and implementing of hardware system of laser welding robot system. The structure, control principle of some key components such as ABB4400 industrial robot, IPG4000W fiber laser, PRECITEC YW50 welding head was introduced. Several sub-systems such as the cooling system,the gas control system were designed, and the central control unit of laser welding robot system would be developed under SIEMENS S7-300.(2) The designing and implementing of software system of laser welding robot system. After analyzing the function of laser welding robot system, the programming design of main management module was developed under WINDOWS operating system, the monitor terminal based on WINCC FLEXIBLE was designed .And the basic function of the system was essentially realized.
