With the rapid development of economic construction, more and more steel buildings have been built since the 21st century, however, a lot of dangers hide in the process of steel in the application, such as fire, corrosion, strength and so on. Low fire resistance and ease of corrosion is the cause of casualties and property losses, the two major problems.With people's growing awareness of fire prevention on steel buildings, high performance fire retardant coatings was required on the steel structure:both environmentally friendly, decorative performance, convenient construction and ultra-thin new fire resistant coatings is urgent needed. Currently, the production of fire retardant coating has a certain scale, but in many paint manufactures, also have many common issues in the fire retardant coating products, such as inadequate fire resistance, easily fall off, poor and inconsistent quality decorative, making it application by certain restrictions.This thesis is based on studying and analyzing ultra-thin fireproof coatings for steel structure, and a new fire retardant coatings is developed, which has some good environmental and decorative properties. By analyzing the mechanism of the fireproof coatings and a large number of experimental studies, determined the partial chloride latex and acrylic latex-based resins, ammonium polyphosphate, melamine and pentaerythritol intumescent flame retardant composition and flame retardant synergist for the flame retardant system, and add the right amount of pigment and filler, leveling agent, plasticizer, curing agent additives, mixed with water as solvent to make the fire coating. The system investigated the fire performance, quality of carbonization layer and expansion ratio. Also the ratio between the various components were optimized by orthogonal.The results show that:ammonium polyphosphate, pentaerythriol and melamine conducted by the percentage of 5:2:3 mix, the result of water-based ultra-thin coating of flame-retardant fireproof was best, when the coating thickness less than 2mm, the fire resistant up to 90min, significantly higher than the national standard 60min.Also drawn fire retardant coating system on the performance of the most significant.
