Four species of face veneer of parquet were impregnated by UF resin and its solution, under normal temperature and pressure conditions. The dimensional stability, surface hardness, color, bond properties, paint properties, and formaldehyde emission were studied before and after treatment. The relationship of impregnation and property of veneer were studied by comparing the results. The variation of the properties of different impregnated time and concentrations of UF resin were analyzed. Then find optimized impregnated condition. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Dimensional stability of wood pieces can be effectively improved by UF resin impregnation. The effect of concentrations of impregnated UF resin was more effective than time. The optimal impregnated condition for improving the dimensional stability of walnut, maple and populus L.is concentrations of UF resin at 30%-40%, the impregnated time is 1h-2h. The optimal concentrations of UF resin of toona roem is 10%-20%.(2) Differences of Changes of surface hardness among the four species with increasing of resin concentration and impregnated time are great. The optimal impregnated condition of walnut and maple, the impregnated time is 2h, the concentration of UF resin is 40%. The impregnated time of toona roem is 4h, the concentration of UF resin is 40%. Populus L., the impregnated time is 4h, the concentration of UF resin is 40%.(3) There is less effect on wood color of veneer impregnated by UF resin.(4) Bonding strength of veneer can not be improved by Impregnated treatment.(5)There is no effect on the adhesion of paint film of veneer impregnated by UF resin. The differences of abrasion value of paint film of veneer among the four species after impregnated treatment are huge. The hardness of paint film of walnut, maple and toona roem veneer are improved effectively after impregnated treatment.(6)The formaldehyde emission of walnut, maple and toona roem veneer are decreasing when concentration of UF resin increased.
