Along with rapid economic development and improvement of living standards, the amount of wastes increases day by day,the problem caused by municipal solid waste has attacted more and more public's attention. Recently, The major harmless treatment technologies are landfill,incineration and eomposting. In our country sanitary landfill is one main way to deal with municipal solid waste.However,it generates a lot of leachate in the landfill and causes secondary pollution.Landfill leachate is typically a of high concentrations organic wastewater ,which is characterized by high concentrations of pollutants,high toxicity and the complexity of composition, threating to the safety of water especially groundwater. So purification of landfill leachate have become a important research topic in the field of wastewater treatment. In this paper, early leachate from sanitary landfill of Hou village Taiyuan was research object, analysed the main characteristics of leachate, and on this basis applied SBR process treat that. The main findings are as follows.(1) After testing and analysis, subjects had early features of landfill leachate and good biodegradability. BOD5/COD=0.4~0.45, SBR process used for its treatment has good feasibility.(2) After 44 days sludge acclimation period, the influent organic matter concentration from low to high, in SBR reactor the removal efficiency variation of COD and ammonia nitrogen was a trend of low to high, the final removal efficiency stabilized at 83.2% and 81.3%.(3) After experimental study the SBR reactor aeration time was 10 hours, anoxia mixing time was 4 hours. Experiment applied four kinds of operating modes which contained one section A /O, two sections A/O, three sections A/O, four sections A/O,and drawn that three sections A/O SBR process operating mode: inflow + anoxia mixing 1h + aerobic aerate 3h + anoxia mixing 2h + aerobic aerate 4h + anoxia mixing 1h + aerobic aerate 3h + sediment 1.5h + drainage was the best way to run.(4) SBR process applied three sections A/O operating mode, changed the pH of inflow,after experimental study we found that when pH=7.5 the best treatment effect was acquired, and the average removal rate of COD and ammonia nitrogen reached 91.02% and 94.00%.It further verified that pH=7~8 was the optimal pH of sludge.
