Partitioning of Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons between the gas and particulate phases has play a decisive role in environmental behavior of PAHs, such as transport, transformation, etc. and directly influence their persistence in the environment and naturalization trends. It is important to study the distribution of Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons between the gas and particulate phases and provide basic data and methods in order to estimate the atmospheric fate of organic compounds accurately. In this paper, through optimizing the conditions of HPLC, we obtained the way to use different wavelengths for different PAHs in the UV absorption of light by using HPLC analysis for PAHs.Test conditions are as follows:Waters AcquityTM UPLC, diode array detector, autosampler, the injection volume 5μL, BEH C18 column 2.1×50mm, 1.7μm, column temperature 30℃, acetonitrile-ultra pure water gradient elution,190-400nm UV band scan; five kinds of substances the maximum UV absorption wavelength of Acenaphthylene 228nm, fluorene 260nm, Philippines 250nm, fluoranthene 286nm, pyrene 240nm.Both 5 typical kinds of PAHs and self-burning of organic particles were used to simulate partitioning experiments. By this way, we can obtain the influence of the concentration of organic carbon in PAHs partitioning between gas and particle. After use experimental outputs to fit the traditional adsorption model, we can conclude the machanisms for the PAHs partitioning in the gas/solid include:surface adsorption and distribution of organic phase inside, and then put forward a new relationship between the concentration of gas-solid phase equation.logKp, logKw, logPLO and Kop have significant linear relationship. So it is meaningful to use these properties to predict partitioning coefficient.Using quantum chemical parameters to fit the Kop of PAHs, the results show that the molecule's ability to provide and receive electronic effects for the Kop more from the point of view of quantum chemistry...
