The cuprous oxide is a kind of important inorganic chemical raw materials, it was widely used in Dope, Glass, Ceramics, Plastics, Agriculture, Industrial Catalysis and other fields. In numerous semiconductor light catalyst materials, the cuprous oxide has a good performance of photochemical catalysis, become the research highlight of photochemical catalysis field. Micro-nanometer-cuprous oxide can take advantage of sunlight degradation of water pollution, without the ultraviolet light, reduce the energy consumption, to improve efficiency and cost saving, therefore the preparation of super fine cuprous oxide become the focus of research.This paper respectively use the method of hydrolysis, aqueous phase system and non-aqueous phase system of liquid phase reduction, through changing the reaction temperature, concentration of reactants, dispersant and other reaction condition to control the shape and the size of the cuprous oxide, take a single factor experiment to fix an optimum reaction conditions. Using the X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) characterize the composition and morphology of the products as a means of characterization. Application of laser particle size analyzer Malvern - 2000 and XIE LE formula measured the average particle size of preparation of cuprous oxide powder. Discuss a simple analysis of the experiment on the reaction mechanism, explore the micro-nanometer-cuprous oxide growth mechanism. Finally the methylene blue solution was degraded by the preparation of cuprous oxide powder. Make a respectively experimental analysis on the effects of degradation efficiency through change the amount of micro-nanometer-cuprous oxide, the concentration of methylene blue solution, length of illumination time.The result indicated that with yellow or orange color, morphology for cube of cuprous oxide powder was prepared by the method of hydrolysis, the average particle size was about 213 nanometer. With wheat and brick-red color, morphology for roundness of cuprous oxide powder was prepared by the method of aqueous phase system of liquid phase reduction, the average particle size was about 547 and 700 nanometer. The color was yellow and morphology was irregular and the average particle size was about 54 nanometer of cuprous oxide powder was prepared by the method of non-aqueous phase system of liquid phase reduction. Through the experiments on the degradation of methylene blue, it can be seen that cuprous oxide which were prepared by the method of hydrolysis had the best performance of photochemical catalysis, and the higher degradation efficiency.
