In sinter production, there are two mainly problems related with the operator of sinter plant,that is how to make the mix material burned through, and how to make the best use of the sinter area. Therefore, how to control the burn through point is the key to resolve the two problems. The right position and keeping stabilization of BTP can improve product ratio and use sinter area completely, and maximizes the sinter production rate, and decrease the energy cost. But because of the long-time delays and the BTP can't be measured directly, it is difficult to find accurate mathematical models to calculate the BTP position, and traditional theories and methods can't resole the control problem of BTP position, this problem has been considered as a key difficulty of sinter plant automation in a very long time.According to the particular 320 sinter plant of Jinan Iron and Steel Corporation, this paper researches out method which the control of BTP position is indirectly influence by the control of BRP position, developed BRP Fuzzy Logic Control Model, and overcome the difficulties such as difficult to control accurately in sinter process, and solve the long-time delays problem of sinter process control. This model is established on Fuzzy logic theories and technology and expert knowledge, and includes policy involve fast fuzzy control and slow fuzzy control. The model determine curve by many wind box temperature, and indirectly control the BTP position by control the BRP position and conform the position of BTP position.This paper explained the possibly to control the BTP position with fuzzy control, introduced the indirectly control of BTP position by BRP position control, and described the method to calculate BRP position, designed fast fuzzy control policy and slow fuzzy control policy, and formed a BTP method of fuzzy logic based on expert knowledge. The model rules and knowledge in fuzzy controller are all originated from actual production data. Since these data can be accumulated and updated frequently, and have powerful adaptation and life force as well. This system was already put into use in 320 sinter machine of Jinan Iron and Steel Corporation. The system can increase 0.3t/m2h in use coefficient and make BTP fluctuation decrease from 7 percent to 3 percent and bring 14 million RMB new benefits every year. The system application shows that the model has a very good effect on improving sinter quality and keeping sinter production stable.
