Phaeocystis globosa Scherffel is a kind of toxic and harmful algae which outbreaks frequently in recent years. It caused tremendous damage to the marine environment, for this reason, it is very meaningful that carry on the research of how to control Phaeocystis globosa Scherffel. We studied the discipline of phosphonium salt and quaternary which removal Phaeocystis globosa Scherffel firstly in this paper. Then we use the phosphonium salt and quaternary as the modifier, montmorillonite which are cheap and easily obtained as the carrier made the modified montmorillonite, carried the research of modified montmorillonite on the removal of Phaeocystis globosa Scherffel.The results show that:phosphonium salt and quaternary are very good surfactant in the removal of Phaeocystis globosa Scherffel, and has a similar role in the process of control algae, the longer the carbon chain and the more complex substituent, the lower the ability of its removal algae; the halide ions do not affect the removal algae ability; the removal algae ability of single long chain is better than double-long chains and the benzyl has a little effect on the removal algae ability; shows that the ability of removal algae is related to their molecular structure. Montmorillonite has a very limited ability to removal algae, In the dosage of 30.0 mg·L-1. the reaction time was 72 h, its algae removal rate was only 35.1%, shows that the montmorillonite can not removal algae efficiently; in the condition of stirring time is 6 h,stirring solution temperature is 60℃,pH is 7.0, we can get the modified montmorillonite whose removal algae ability is the best; the algae removal rate can reach 93.0% when the amount of modified montmorillonite is 20.0 mg·L-1 in 48h; the amount of modifier in the modified montmorillonite, initial algae cell density,different types of modified clay can all influence the algae removal rate; Under the same experiment conditions, the algae removal rate of Phosphonium salt modified montmorillonite is better than quaternary modified montmorillonite.Flocculation experiments showed that modified montmorillonite has a strong sedimentation effect on the phaeocystis globosa, but can not kill them effectively, modifier playing the major role in the removal of phaeocystis globosa. The removal mechanism on phaeocystis globosa is a synergistic process.Experimental results show that:modified montmorillonite has a good ability in removal phaeocystis globosa, it is an ideal algaecide worthy of further study,popularization and application.
