Leather wastewater is rich in protein. In the aerobic treatment process, protein amino acids are converted to free ammonia by aerobic microbial deamination. So, on the leather wastewater is concerned, the effluent ammonia-nitrogen concentration would be much higher than the raw water, far exceeding the discharge standards limitation, if only by a single-stage aerobic biochemical treatment. The secondary effluent of leather wastewater treatment has e poor biodegradability, biological treatment methods can not achieve the desired effect. So it is very necessary to study the discipline and application of chemical denitrification in the advanced treatment of leather wastewater. But the chemical removal of ammonia nitrogen need consumes a lot of agents, bring about relative handling costs. How to reduce pharmaceutical consumption has been the focus of the study of the method.The secondary effluent of the Jiangmen Xinhui District Hawthorn tanneries was the subject of this study. In addition to the three different chemical methods to test ammonia comparative study:removal by chemical precipitation method, chlorination and ozonation nitrogen removal method method, analysing the leather waste removal technology in the optimal chemical conditions, and making comprehensive analysis of the economic reality of the engineering to explore economically viable methods to remove ammonia.Chemical precipitation method analyzes the chemical precipitation nitrogen removal method of operating conditions, the pharmaceutical dosage, reaction time and initial ammonia concentration and other factors. Experiments show that:wastewater in the presence of Ca2+precipitate removal method has a great influence, preliminary economic analysis, processing 1 ton of leather wastewater treatment costs 23.7 yuan (first remove Ca2+) and 16.1 yuan (not remove Ca2+).Breakpoint chlorination mainly analyzes the chlorine dosage, reaction time factor. Experimental results show:Experimental results show:preliminary economic analysis, processing 1 ton of ammonia wastewater treatment cost of 8.1 yuan.The chemical oxidation mainly analyzes the hydrogen peroxide, the potassium permanganate, the potassium dichromate,the fenton reagent and other oxidants. Experimental results show:When the pH value is higher, the faster the oxidation of antioxidants, and the removal rate varies with the water temperature rises.
