The study carries out mineral processing experiments on an iron ore in Xinjiang whose ferri tenor is 24%. The iron ore belongs to metasediment iron ore-deposit whose natural type is mixed ore and commercial type is milling ore. There are three kinds of metallic minerals, there names and contents are hematite 13.4%,limonite 6.35%,siderite 33.5%. The grain size number of 87% limonite and 56% siderite are less than 20micron. The containing iron in hematite and limonite is 51.34%, in siderite is 47.57%. So this is a poor value complex iron ore.According to process mineralogy study and this iron's features, we carries systematic experimental study on this ore, including high magnetic intensity selection,flotation,magnetic roasting and magnetic selection,magnetic roasting and magnetic selection and reverse flotation and so on. The results shows that the use of magnetic roasting and magnetic selection of this iron ore obtain a good indicator which is better than the other indicators. The use of magnetic roasting and magnetic selection technology gets an iron concentrate containing 55% iron with an iron recovery rate of 70%; Through magnetic roasting-three stage grinding-magnetic separation technology, we obtains an iron concentrate containing 58% iron with an iron recovery rate of more than 60%; Further use of reverse flotation to the iron concentrate which obtained by magnetic roasting-three stage grinding-magnetic separation, we can obtain an iron concentrate containing 60% iron with an iron recovery rate of more than 50%.Magnetic roasting-magnetic separation processing has many advantages such as good index,easy grinding of baked ore and don't has the problem of bursting crack in sintering processing of siderite and good sedimentation characteristics of the tailings and so on. Though roasting cost is high, the grinding cost can make up for the defect. Therefore, magnetic roasting-magnetic separation is the unique feasible processing of this iron ore.The success of this study not only make us utilize this mine, but also has certain practical value and guiding significance in refractory of iron ore which has the same feature of this ore.
