Since entering the 21st century, environmental pollution becomes more and more serious.Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) is one of the main sources of air pllution, the elimination of which has increasingly been paid attention to. Catalytic combustion is one of the effective ways to deal with VOCs because of its efficient economic, high removal efficiency, non-secondary pollution and low energy consumption. Catalyst, one of the key factors in catalytic combustion, gives a decisive affect on removal efficiency and energy consumption. So the research of high active catalysts becomes a focus in the catalytic combustion field. This paper mainly studied catalytic combustion of toluene on the Cu-Mn composite oxide catalysts supported on nanophase TiO2-Al2O3. After comparing, it was found that the activity of CuMnOx/TiO2-Al2O3 was better than that of CuMn/γ-Al2O3, T95 of which had lower temperature of 20℃. The higher activity performance of the former was mainly attributed here to a ppropriate specific surface area of its support, which allowed to keep the appropriate size of active components and to reduce the interaction between the support and active components. Meanwhile, the existence of CuMn2O4 was also improve the activity as it was beneficial to complete catalytic oxidation. The study was based on Gas Chromotograpgy as ditecting method and XRD,BET as characterization method. The result showed that the catalyst, synthesized by Impregnation, exhibited excellent catalytic performance with TiO2/TiO2-Al2O3 ratio of 0.3,Cu/Mn ratio of 0.5 and tatol loadings of 25wt.%CuMnOx.It also studied the influence of the preparation and movement parameters to VOCs catalytic combustion efficiency. It was indicated that the catalyst had higher catalytic activity when calcined at 500℃for 2-4 hours, under ultrasonic radiation for 20min and airspeed less than 8000h-1.By the way, the different toluene concentrations had little influence to the efficiency of the catalyst catalytic combustion in a certain range.
