In the electrolytic aluminum production, pre-baking anode compared to the heart of the electrobath not only conducts the electric current for the electrolysis, furthermore, participates the electrochemistry responding. As a key factor affecting the aluminum electrolysis process, the pre-baking anode technology becomes a very important part in the aluminum electrolysis. High quality pre-baking anode is a prerequisite for the safe efficient motion of modern industrial high-capacity pre-baking electrobath. And it indicates the direction for the national policy of aluminum electrolytic industry energy saved, consumption reduced and becomes a main portion to promote the factory competitive force. The author has engaged in managing the carbon anode production technical for more than 10 years and took charge of high quality anode production technological innovation for Aluminum Corporation of China Limited Shandong Branch. Based on these, the author has got great success in improving the carbon anode quality. All of the research achievements are as follows:(1)According to that the content of trace elements in petroleum coke of different areas in our country is complementary, the petroleum coke homogeneity technology of controlling the content of trace elements was applied though blending petroleum coke of different kinds, contents, and particle sizes together. In the light of S<2.5%, S/Ca between 100 to 150, S/Na between 100 to 150, and S/V between 70 to 100, the quality need of production is satisfied. (2)The powder material automatic distribution technology applied in the production process. Through the noise monitoring and quantity controlling technology, the ball mill can offer material automatically. The stability was enhanced greatly and the purity was controlled under±1%. The ball pulverizing used the ball mill wind power transportation technology, the working condition was improved, the material density was stable, and the output was enhanced 30%.(3)The new technology of high temperature kneading and constant temperature shaping was applied in the production process. Though using the frequency conversion belt to transport the paste, then enable the process to have both the cool material and the heat preservation dual function. It is advantageous to the paste pitch smoke's collection and elimination, and can prevent the temperature excessively to be low in winter, the paste temperature excessively low. The homogeneity, uniformity and the distribution of the paste temperature were guaranteed. The bulk density of the anode green carbon body enhanced to 1.62-1.63 g/cm3.(4) The anode homogeneity technology was applied, though using natural gas as the fuel, transforming the heating system to reduce temperature from 195℃to 70℃. The results are as follows:The anode quality is improved largely, the anode homogeneity is better, the electronic receptivity and pressure resistance intensity distribution quite are even, the phenomenon of big diversity between up and down disappeared.(5) Cleaned up the left of the anode, by using the newly invited pill machine. After, the remnant superficial electrolyte on the anode is cleaned extremely up, the remnant sodium content reduced 10 times extremely, achieved below 500PPm.(6)Though a series of measures, equalized the petroleum coke, graduated the powder material, formation of high temperature mixing process, equalized the roasting, cleaned up the remnant and so on, the anode quality has a distinct improvement, and the quality of the produced anode went far beyond the YS/T 285-2007 standard, being up to the European standard. After the electrolysis reaction, The unit ton A1 consumption of the anode reduces 10.12kg to 412.88kg, approaching the leading level in the domestic.
