The separation process model was build based on the industrial plant of synthesis technology of Vinyl Acetate (VAc) from Acetylene and Acetic Acid, as the simulation software used ProII and terms of use of existing equipment actual industrial data. The simulation results are consistent with the actual industrial data, and the data of some minor components has bias but the change trend is the same.Based on the features of the existing separation process, the new energy-saving separation process, decreasing the inlet temperature of syngas into the first absorpation tower, was brought forward. The new separation process can recover heat and reducing the amount of recycling water, at the same time, it can increase condensation and absorption efficiency of the system, but the ALD concentration in the recycle exhaust gas of scrubbing tower will increase. (The new catalyst of synthesis of VAc from Acetylene and Acetic Acid has some tolerance for the increasing of ALD concentration in the recycle exhaust gas).To an engineering project background, the detailed simulation analysis was done for the new energy-saving separation process. The simulation results show that the absorption rate of VAc of the energy-saving process is the same with existing separation process; the Acetylene concentration of crude VAc of the bottom of second absorption tower is lower than that of the existing separation process. The energy-saving separation process can be used to the new engineering project.
