Due to their excellent optical and electrical properties, 1, 8-naphthalimide derivatives have been widely used in solar cell, organic light-emitting materials and fluorescent probes. However, the applications of 1, 8-naphthalimide in third-order nonlinear optical materials and electric memory were few reported.In this thesis, we firstly synthesized an ATRP initiator NA3PH with third-order nonlinear optical properties from 1, 8-naphthalimide, and then obtain functional polystyrene by ATRP. The NLO properties of NA3PH and NA3PH-PSt were studied by Z-scan techniques, and we found that NA3PH and NA3PH-PSt have similar NLO properties.Moreover, we synthesized two organic compounds NACA and NAPH from 1, 8-naphthalimide, and the electric memory effects of ITO/NACA/Al and ITO/NAPH/Al were studied. In addition, DPc was doped into NACA system in order to improve the solubility. We also found that the amount of DPc has effect on storage performance of the device.
