The new approach of polymerization was still being the target of people working on synthesis of polymer especially in the synthesis of functional polymer. Synthesis of polyacetylenes has been one of the most important subjects because of its application in electric polymer, organic light emitting diode, solar panel and sensor et al. Our group has been research on polymerization of propiolamide catalyzed by lewis base. This paper is aimed at the mechanism of polymerization and the content including mechanism, the structure and property of polymer, the reaction kinetics. We put forward three projects to research on the mechanism of polymerization:1, synthesis of deuterated monomer; 2, modification of polypropiolamide by Methyl propiolate; 3, change of Substituent of monomer. The results indicate the reaction was polyaddition including proton transfer. This polymerization was step polymerization. The addition polymerization of electron-withdrawing acetylenes catalyzed by lewis base was discussed, including the polymerization of methyl propiolate catalyzed by sodium hydride; Synthesis and characterization of hyperbranched polypropiolamide with Terminal Ester catalyzed by Ph3P; the structure and properties of the poly(N-benzylpropiolamide) and the mechanism of the polymerization catalyzed by Ph3P, n-Bu3P and DABCO.The results of FT-IR,1H-NMR and MALDI-TOF showed the structure of poly(N-benylpropiolamide). The reasults indicate that the reaction of Ph3P catalyzed N-benylpropiolamide was nucleophilic addition of alkyne and amide. Different reaction conditions such as monomer concentrations, temperatures and solvents were also discussed. The degree of polymer was 4-16). The yield of polymer decreased with the temperature's rising, the molar rates of Ph3P and monomer, and the polarity's heightening of solvents. We have discussed the fluorescent performance of polymer.
