The magnesium resources were very abundant in China, but their applications were still insufficient. The halogen flame retardants were poisonous and harmful, but still were usded extensively. As a result, substitute materials are needed. It is an effective way to solve the problems by using magnesium hydroxide as flame retardants. The JMP software could be used for processing datas and designing of experiments. To the best of our knowledge, there was no report about applications of JMP in chemistry in domestic currently.This thesis focuses on the optimization of synthesis conditions of modified magnesium hydroxide based on JMP.The main works of this thesis were: 1. The possibility of JMP applied at the chemical experiments had been analyzed; 2. The modified magnesium hydroxide had been synthesized by hydrothermal method, microwave-hydrothermal method, and direct precipitation method. The fitting equation of the reaction had been made. And the physical and chemistry properties of the samples had been tested. 3. The influence to polypropylene intermingled with 20% modified magnesium hydroxide also had been investigated.
