Analyzed ecological indexes and EEMs of water samples in 12 sites of the red tide occurred in the coast of Qingdao, Shandong province, P.R. China (36.0407'N to 36.0590°N; 120.2810°E to 120.3152°E), in August 2007.Obtained 4 ecological indexes by calculating, which are Simpson index, Margalef index, Pielou evenness index and Shannon-Weiner index. The results show a negative correlation between COD and Shannon-Weiner index, a negative correlation between Shannon-Weiner index and the cell number of Skeletonema costatum and a positive correlation between Shannon-Weiner index and the cell number of Skeletonema costatum. And, a hypothesis was given to explain the results:in the decline phase, new algae species may appear in the sea area and the biodiversity increase as well, which results in a promotion of the overall water quality.Modified the Excitation-emission Matrix spectroscopy (EEMs) data of 12 sites via Delaunay triangulation algorithm and analyzed the compiled 3D-matrix, X(12X36X27), constructed by individual EEMs data of 12 sites by using PARAFAC model.The results from PARAFAC model show that EEMs is proved to be a strong means in multi-components i.e. CDOM distinction and some peaks in it perform wonderful correlations with ecological and bio-chemical indexes. Thus, when combined with "3S" (RS,GIS,GPS) technologies and ARGO Project, EEMs is expected to become a suit of effective and efficient means in red tide monitoring, or even to be used in red tide forecast. However, in order to realize the goals mentioned above, it still calls for further research and sufficient data to support. And, this dissertation, as the earliest one adopting EEMs and PARAFAC model into practice, provides both theoretical supports and data for future researches in this angle.
