Nowadays, the use of environmental-friendly heterogeneous catalysts has become an important research target for clean processes in fine chemical industries. In this thesis, diamino-functionalized mesostructured polymers were designed and synthesized. FDU-mesoporous phenolic resin is a new type of mesoporous materials with both merits of mesoporous materials (high surface area, larger pore orderly, tunable mesoporous structure, etc) and high oligomers (high hydrophobicity, easy modification, more acid than the silicon-based corrosion, etc). We developed a new solid base FDU-DMEA and applied it in Michael addition. The FDU-DMEA catalyst was characterized by X-ray diffraction, N2 adsorption-desorption, etc. The results indicated that the mesoporous structure of FDU-type mesostructured polymer was not affected by the functionalization, however, the pore diameter, pore volume and BET surface area were decreased. The catalytic performance of the catalyst was measured in Michael addition reaction. A clean, efficient, and simple method has been developed using FDU-DMEA as an efficient catalyst. The reactions proceeded with moderate to high yields with both electron-rich and electron-deficient nitroolefin (80-98%) as well as heteroaryl-substituted nitroolefins (45-94%). The FDU-DMEA catalyst is easily recyclable and can be reused more than twenty-one times without significant loss of activity and selectivity. We also used diamino-functionalized FDU-type mesostructured polymer for one-pot multistep reactions. Further studies on the reaction of the catalyst are now in progress.In the second section, a series of new type diamino-functionalized FDU-type mesostructured polymers were designed and synthesized as ligands for cross coupling reactions. Further studies on the reaction of the catalyst are now in progress.
