With the ultrasonic plastic welding technology is widely used in various industries, an important device in the system - rectangular welding mold has also been widely used. In the welding process, the Lateral vibration in welding mold easily lead to uneven distribution of welding face amplitude, and thus directly affect the welding quality. As the mold is non-standard devices, there generally no design standards or methods can refer to. Also the traditional design method heavily depends on designer's skill and the design work is offen in low efficiency. Therefore, to explore and master structural optimization methods to improve dynamic performance of rectangular welding mold, is very important to the ultrasonic equipment manufacturers.In this paper, artificial neural networks and genetic algorithm optimization is applied to the mold, combined with slotted rectangular body coupled vibration analysis. These methods effectively improved the vibration uniformity of rectangular ultrasonic welding mold and other dynamic features. And also improve the design reliability of rectangular ultrasonic welding mold.
