With the development of microwave and millimeter wave circuits towards integration and miniaturization, the size of the microwave and millimeter wave devices will eventually be of nano-scale. More challenges are raised on the microwave and millimeter wave circuits'information transportation both in and between systems. Meanwhile, with the development of THz technology, the creation and transmission of THz energy are the key problems in research. Nowadays, how to effectively realize the transmission and radiation of the electromagnetic energy in the micro-integrated systems become a challenge in microwave and THz engineering.Nowadays, with the development of nano-technology, the techniques of carbon nanotube growth are maturing. In this paper, firstly, Helen's integrated equation and the method of moment, with the quantum effects be taken account of, have been employed to compare the wave-guide properties of single row nanotube array, multi row nanotube array, perfect conductor array and infinite conductivity metal tube array. Numerical results reveal that, compared with the perfect conductor array and the infinite conductivity metal tube array, nanotube arrays have lower and wider transmission passband. Meanwhile, it has been found that the wave guiding property of the carbon nanotube array has been improved effectively with the increase of rows. Secondly, we analyze and test the radiation properties of carbon nanotube array fed by the microstrip yagi antenna and microstrip patch. The results show that the radiation patterns of the microstrip antennas change significantly after the carbon nanotube array is loaded as well as the reduce of resonance frequencies. In sum, it's a promising direction to face the challenges in the integration and miniaturization process of microwave and THz technology utilizing carbon nanotube array to build novel electromagnetic wave transmission lines and antennas.
