The paper use atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) method to study the polymerization of acrylamide in complete aqueous solution. Using 2-chloro-propionamide (CPA) as initiator, copper chlorine (CuCl) /2,2'-bipyridyl(bpy) as Catalyst system, Achieved the polymerization of acrylamide by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) method, by investigating the polymerization reaction in different temperature,different monomer concentration,different ratio of the monomer and initiator([M]∶[I])and different initiator and catalyst concentration ([C]: [I]) to study the polymerization mechanism of ATRP in complete aqueous solution. second, polymerization the temperature-sensitivity hydrogel of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide- co-ter-butylacrylate) P(NIPAM-co-tBA) by ATRP was studied. Further study discussion of various factors on the ATRP for the polymerization of P(NIPAM-co-tBA) hydrogel. and the best formula was obtained by experiments. Finally, the results of polymers with efficient testing, analysis and characterization composition and structure of the copolymer by IR. analysis of actual molecular weight determination(Mn) and molecular weight distribution (PDI) by gel permeation chromatography.The polymerization of acrylamide in complete aqueous solution, studied the polymerization reaction at different temperature,different monomer concentration,different ratio of the monomer and initiato(r[M]∶[I])and different initiator and catalyst concentration ([C]: [I]). The study found that polymerization rate increasing versus temperature in polymerization process; the polymerization rate increases depending on monomer concentration, the linear relationships of ln([M]0/[M])~t is better; When increasing the dosage of initiator, the polymerization rate increases, but reduce controllable of the polymerization; the polymerization was better controlled when Catalyst with initiator reaction ratio([C]∶[I])is 1:1; With monomer conversion increasing, the intrinsic viscosity of the polymer solution increases, This shows the polymerization reaction with the basic characteristics of polymerization active, and the controlled characteristic of the polymerization reaction is better. molecular weight distribution of the copolymer is narrow and molecular weight of theory and practice is deviation smaller.The polymerization of temperature-sensitivity of P(NIPAM-co-tBA) hydrogel by ATRP. studied the swelling ratio and VPTT in different monomer concentration, different amount of initiator,different amount of crosslinker and different comonomer composition, and the best match was obtained by experiments. We also conduct the dynamic analysis of polymerization process. By studied, we know that VPTT of the P(NIPAM-co-tBA) hydrogel can be adjusted in a wide range by changing the amount of tBA comonomer. When increasing the proportion of tBA, temperature-sensitivity and swelling ratio of P(NIPAM-co-tBA) hydrogel decrease. Compare with P(NIPAM -co-tBA) prepared by radical polymerization, the hydrogel by ATRP have some advantage such as a lower VPTT, quickly swelling rate and high water- reservation ratio.
