Polyacrylonitrile fiber (PAN)is one of the three major synthetic fibers,it is widely used in life.The properties,preparation process and structure of PAN are introduced in this paper.The products of PAN are relatively single in our country,in order to change this situation,modified PAN fiber to prepare a high-performance and multi-function products is implemented.A large number of PAN wastes are produced in the production and living,these wastes are very difficult to deal with in normal course.Considerding the economic,environment and other factors,through the methods of PAN modification to achieve PAN waste recycling is a practical way.The most widely used method of PAN modification is hydrolyzing process,because it is simple and mild reaction conditions.The method of PAN hydrolysis,affecting factors and the hydrolysis mechanism of hydrolysis are illustrated in the text.The use of hydrolysates are summarized in detail.With PAN hydrolysis products as raw materials can be prepared in many high-value-added products,their applications are nearly correlated with the degree of hydrolysis.In this paper,PAN waste silk was hydrolyzed by naoh as raw material,a series of hydrolysates were obtained by changing hydrolysis conditions.Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer,Elemental Analyzer were utilized to characterize the base PAN fiber and its partially hydrolysates,the type and proportion of groups in the hydrolysates were discussed.The results show that amide groups,carboxylic acid salts and cyano are in the hydrolysates,the proportion of these groups in different hydrolysates are different.The viscosity,water-soluble,and PH value of hydrolysates were measured by Ubbelohde viscometer,Spectrophotometer,Acidometer, so the propertys of PAN hydrolyzate can be better understood.PAN hydrolyzates are used widely due to its excellent performance,The purpose of this paper is to measure water absorption, flocculation properties ,fluid loss properties of PAN hydrolysates and investigat the realationships between hydrolysis conditions,the hydrolysis degree and these properties through experiment.Other effect factors on water absorption, flocculation properties and fluid loss properties were also discussed. The experimental results show that the properties of hydrolysates under different conditions are distinct.The hydrolysates can be used as water absorbent,flocculant and fluid loss agent under different hydrolysis degree, the degree of hydrolysates(the proportion of groups)is the key factor that can decide their performance.
