This paper uses the changing law of hardness, single pendulum scratch test, the scanning electronic microscope, the metallographic analysis, and the X-ray to study the effect of aging treatment parameter on strain hardening and characterization of the initial wear of high manganese steel, and as the impact on the high manganese, the specific energy consumption, tangential hardness, normal hardness and scratch's pattern in single pendulum impact scratch testing changes. The result showed that the metallographies of the high manganese steels treated by watering toughening and aging treatment of 400℃are all of austenite of single phase, in which no carbide separated out. A little carbides precipitated out in the austenitic matrix of the high manganese steel treated after aging treatment of 500℃. After aging treatment of 600℃, the number of carbides precipitation in the austenitic matrix increased obviously, and carbides were of the shapes of needle and short rod, and distributed uniformly. The Vickers hardness of high manganese steels treated by different aging treatment was increasing with the aging treatment temperature arising and the holding time extending. The Vickers hardness of high manganese steel treated by 600℃×1 h aging treatment from the watering toughening 318 HV2 achieved to 395 HV2. The high manganese steels of deformation after aging treatment, carbide precipitates in a certain direction, dislocations with the carbide precipitation are different. As the aging temperature increases, the amount of carbide precipitation gradually increased, hardness increased after deformation aging at 500℃to peak hardness of 464 HV2.The ZGMn13 steel's n, k is raising as the aging temperature increases, indicating that the strain hardening effect as the aging temperature increases as raise. The curve of relation between specific energy and scratch volume with the scratch volume increases, specific energy firstly falls and then rises slowly finally stabilizing. The curve of relation between specific energy and scratch volume of the high manganese steel treated after 600℃×1 h aging treatment was the highest of all curved lines. And the curve of relation of the high manganese steel treated by 600℃×4 h aging treatment was lower than one treated by 600℃×1 h aging treatment. When the scratch volume was bigger than 0.2mm3, the normal hardness of high manganese steels treated by different aging treatment declined slowly and the changing law of the normal hardness was basically the same as the scratch volume increasing. Tangential scratch hardness with the variation of volume has some fluctuations, but overall was same as the law of normal hardness. The scratch morphologies of samples tested after single pendulum impact scratch testing were all sharp scratches in grooves, and existed crease on both sides.
