1.The pristine multiwalled carbon nanotubes(MWNTs) were reacted with concentrated nitric acid, thionyl chloride, glycol, and 2-bromo-2'-methylpropionyl bromide sequently to prepare bromide-functionalized MWNTs(MWNT-Br) as an initiator of atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). Poly glycidyl mathacrylate(PGMA) grafted MWNTs were prepared successfully via ATRP of GMA initiated by MWNT-Br and 2-hydroxylethyl-2'-bromoisobutyrate(HEBrIB) as co-intiators. FT-IR, 1H NMR, TG and TEM were used to analyzied chemical structures and observed micromophology of the pristine MWNTs and the derivatives. And the results showed that PGMA was successfully bonded to the surface of MWNTs. TG and GPC were used to conducted quantities fraction, number average molecular weight and polydispersity index of the grafting polmers.2.The multiamine functionalized MWNTs were prepared from MWNT-PGMA as raw materials which reacted with exccess ethylenediamine. MWNT-PNH2 sequested Ag+, Pd2+ from aqueous solution to prepare metal loaded MWNTs in the present of reducted agent. FT-IR,1H NMR,TEM,SEM,EDS and TG were used to study chemical structure of the precursor,observe micromophology and analyzied element species of the hybrid material, conduct quantities fraction of the metal loading.3.The kinetics of ATRP of styrene was researched in the present of MWNT-Br and HEBrIB as co-intiator. TG and GPC were used to calculate quantites fraction, detect number averge molecular weight and polydispersity index of grafting polystyrene. Meanwile, we discovered a conveinent approach to graft PS rappidly onto surface of MWNTs occasionally, and we proposed a reasonable theoratical explanation.4.The organic functionalized graphene sheets were prepared successfully via conjugated of sp2-bond carbon reacted with aromatic compounds. The modified graphene sheets can be dissolved well in organic solvent, and solution can be existed steadily at least lasting fortnight through our careful observations.
