In many practical applications, surfactants are used in formulations containing mixtures of different compounds, and the interaction of different compounds is the research highlight. In recent years, Gemini surfactant as a new highly active surfactant variety are receiving much attention especially the mixed micellar systems including Gemini and conventional surfactants. This study synthesized two novel Gemini surfactants via a convenient and easy controlable method, confirmed the structures of these surfactants by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, IR spectra and ESI-MS, Studied the interaction in six novel Gemini surfactants with conventional anionic surfactant dodecyl sodium sulfate (SDS) or cationic cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) surfactant in 0.1 Mol/L NaCl aqueous solution. The surface tension vs log molar concentration plots have been obtained by the ring method at temperature of 25℃. From the plots , obtained the surface properties, such as critical micelle concentration ,surface excess concentration,Γmax, average minimum area per molecule, Amin, and figured out that it have better surface properties in anionic Gemini surfactants with conventional surfactants. The results have been evaluated by using the regular solution theory, and find synergism. Also researched the emulsification stability, the wetting ability and the lime soap dispersing power of mixed solutions of Gemini surfactants with SDS or CTAB.
