In metal deformation processing, if the workpiece is superimposed a certain direction, frequency and amplitude of vibration and deformed under the vibration, there will be some special phenomenon. It has been known that if vibration is superimposed on the mould or workpiece during the plastic forming process, not only would the friction between the mould and workpiece, together with the total forming load, decrease, but also that the deformability and formation uniformity would increase; this would meanwhile result in an improvement of product quality. Therefore, vibrated plastic processing will become a new and probable method to improve the properties of plastic forming of light alloy, for example, Mg alloy.This paper investigated the vibrated plastic deformation processing of Mg alloy Furthermore, the existing"surface effect"and"volume effect"of vibrated plastic processing was used to analysis the mechanism of AZ31 with ultrasonic vibration. And this paper will mainly study the following aspects.â‘ Study situation of metal vibration plastic processing theory and application at home and abroad was represented.â‘¡Ultrasonic vibration was superimposed on the tensile tests of AZ31 Mg alloy. Then stress-strain curves, tensile fracture and microstructure under different conditions were compared. We studied the effect of ultrasonic vibration on tensile deformation of AZ31. In these situations, there was little friction and the influence of the"surface effect"can be ignored. So, a preliminary analysis of the mechanism of vibrated plastic deformation of AZ31 was presented from the"volume effect".â‘¢Compression tests of AZ31 samples was performed under the conditions of routine and ultrasonic-vibration, and with different amplitudes. We compared the load-displacement curves, stress-strain curves and compression fracture and researched the effect of ultrasonic vibration on the compression deformation resistance, flow stress and fracture modes of AZ31 samples. In these cases, the friction is a very important factor in compression process. And, we must investigate the mechanism of vibrated plastic deformation of AZ31 combining the"surface effect"and"volume effect".â‘£From the experimental results, we got a preliminary investigation of vibrated plastic deformation mechanism of AZ31. Through research of this topic, we have some knowledge of the law on the vibrated plastic deformation of AZ31, of which we preliminarily analysis the vibrated plastic deformation mechanism of AZ31 on the basic. It provides a little experimental and theoretical data for the vibrated plastic processing area.
