Based on October 2008 ~ October 2009 the water environment monitoring data, combined long-term monitoring data from Baoding City Environmental Monitoring Station in 1988 to 2009.This paper researched water environment of long-term changes and the annual changes in Baiyangdian Lake. Research the water physical and chemical characteristics of some lakes district of Baiyangdian in the angle of physical indicators, chemical indicators, biological indicators, temporal division and main-control factors. Discribe the variation of nutrient concentrations in a long-term. Discussed water environment on the overall spatial and temporal changes in Baiyangdian lake, and analyzed the differences of water environment of different areas in Baiyangdian lake in apparent phenomenon, nutrient loading, the master factors. The result showing that: l factors of lakes in the whole range of Baiyangdian were larger difference in horizontal distribution. The characteristic of water environment in Different region is different. Beyond the nutrient limitate the growth of phytoplankton in several different regions in Baiyangdian, may be there are some other limitatefactors. Pollutants is the most important factors which affect the water environment in Baiyangdian lake. Throw the principal component analysis,the priority pollutant is organic pollutants then total nitrogen and total phosphorous. The growth of algae may be not the most important factor.Throw the ecological investigation about phytoplankton and aquatic plant, we described the species composition, population, spatial distribution and historical situation. The result shows that blue green microalgae is the dominant population of algae population in Baiyangdian lake, and the green algae has the most species and the blue algae has the most biomass. The biodiversity of phytoplankton is decreasing. The biomass of phytoplankton in different regions of Baiyangdian lake has great discrepancy. The vertical layered of aquatic plant population is very clear. In recent ten years, the distribution area, community biomass, biodiversity and productivity has been reduced. The dominant communities of aquatic plant has been changed. The variation is from the dominant species of submerged plants to the advantage of emergent plants, and the lake is swamping and becaming to land.
