Recent years,field emission display (FED) has attracted a lot of attentions because of its advantages such as high display quality, low power consumption and was considered to be one of the most promising next generation display technologies.The discover of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) attract many scientists's attention.carbon nanotubes can be used in many domain due to it have excellent mechanics,electricity and magnetics.carbon nanotubes have high ratio inlength-radius, low work function, good electrical conductivity and nanometer tip,it can emit electron long time in low voltage.So it have been considered a good field-emission cathode.Following the discovery of carbon nanotube,more and more efforts have been concentrated on the studies of carbon nanotube field emission display prepared by screen-printing thick film technology.The key of advanced performance is to improve the field emission properties of carbon nanotube based cold cathodes,but more essential research is to develop the new printable carbon nanotube based cold cathode materials,which are satisfied for the requirement of field emission display.The key for practicality is to improve the stability and uniformity of large-area field emission display.In this paper,we studied CNT film which treated by He plasma.CNT cathodes have been made by using screen-printing.Conglutinated CNTs were separated after being ablated by He plasma.The spacing between CNTs increased,screen effect minished.Experiment results show that the field emission properties of CNT film are highly improved,relevant turn-on voltage was reduced.From Raman spectra of CNT film dealed with He plasma and current energy,the defects on CNT surface were increased with the time added,which became new field emission dots.So the He plasma and current ablation is a kind of effective method that could enhance CNT field emission properties,and has the utility value in the research of CNTs cathode material.
