The Research Of Uniform Design In Postal Industry

With the rapid economic development in China, the demands and requests of the uniforms in various industries are increasing growing. The postal industry as an important member of the public service sectors in China, the research of its uniform design still stays in the developing level.With the inner structural reforming and the business expanding of China Post, the uniform design in postal industry will become maturity. According to the characteristics in the postal industry, the specialization of its uniform design should be paid attention. Besides the basic identification of its uniforms, the function, comfort, aesthetics, enterprise culture and the branding should be concerned completely in its uniform design. Based on the further development of China Post, the uniform design in postal industry will become an important subject in the future. The systematic study of its uniform design will be of great significance.The aim of this thesis is to conclude the problems and inadequacy according to the information collection and investigation of the current situation of China Post first, Second, to optimize the design methodolgies and propose the general principles about the uniform design in postal industry, which lays down the complete theoretical foundation for the future uniform design in postal industry.Induction and deduction is mainly used in the thesis. The author tried to merge the professional knowledge covering the Ergonomics, Textile Materials, Aesthetics, Chromatics, Psychology and the Textile Design in order to conclude the principles of postal uniform design in its colors, materials, styles, accessories, etc.The main contribution of this thesis may be concluded as follows:1. Based on the research of the various periodicals, books and references, the author found that there was almost blank in the study of postal uniform design. First of all, the author collected the imformation about the history of the Chinese postal uniforms and then analysed its current situation systematically.Second, compared the situation in other countries.Third, optimized the design methodolgies and proposed the trends of future design about the postal uniforms. Through above research which can provide the firsthand data for the future study about the postal uniforms and also fill in the gaps in this area.2. By using the questionairs, interviews and investigations, the author tried to collect the imformation and suggestions about the varieties, colors, styles, materials and accessories of the postal uniforms from the ordinary persons and the people who working in the postal industry. Through the study and analysis, the inadequacies can be found in recent situation, which offers the basic data to the future design.3. Based on the imformation collection and investigation, combining the basic theories of the textile design and the uniform design, the author proposed a series of design principles and methods about the postal uniform design. And according to the development of the Chinese postal industry, the author had further thinking about the innovation of uniform design to propose the future concept of the Chinese postal uniforms.
