In recent years, with the increasing of the human's environmental awareness, paying more attention to the water environment and the toxic pollutants, the control of toxic substance discharged into the water is stricter and stricter. Seek new and practical environmental protection processing technology, strengthen the process of waste degradation, shorten the processing time and reduce the equipment size, all these is the focus of research that environmental workers do in the current。Impinging streams of liquid continuous phase, with its strong micro-mixing characteristics, provide a favorable platform for wastewater treatment, it has great potential in waste water treatment; hydrodynamic cavitations technology not only can effectively remove many of recalcitrant and toxic substances, but also has the advantage of no secondary pollution。As a new water treatment method, it is more attention in recent years。But the research of combining the two technologies for wastewater treatment have not been reported, therefore, in this paper, the new idea for waste water treatment by combination of two advanced technologies was proposed, and a novel impinging stream cavitations reactor was designed.In the paper, firstly, the flow fields in cavitations nozzles with three different structures were simulated based on standard k-e turbulent model with Fluent, by analyzing the pressure distribution and the vapor fraction plot, the angle nozzle was optimally selected for the impinging stream reactor ultimately; Secondly, the mathematical model of impinging streams of liquid continuous phase was built based on the basic theory of fluid mechanics, and the characteristics of flow field in the reactor was analyzed; at last, numerical simulation of internal flow field was conducted using FLUENT software, the distribution of the velocity and pressure and the variation of velocity and pressure on the axis of symmetry plane was studied, while the influence on characteristics of flow field with different impinging distances and inlet velocities and the residence time of dispersion particles was also studied. From the comparison of theoretical analysis and numerical results, it can be seen that the results of numerical simulation of impinging stream consistent with the existing theoretical results of the analysis, which not only verifies the correctness of the model, and that the use of numerical simulation methods for impact flow is feasible. The numerical simulation results for the impinging stream reactor design optimization and improvement of the basic data and theoretical basis, and ultimately a highly effective, low impact air flow of waste water treatment technology with the foundation.
