Novel octatungstate-supported and tetravacant Keggin-type phosphomolybdate-supported tricarbonyl metal comounds together with a carbonyl manganese cluster compound were successfully synthesized in virtue of Na2WO4·2H2O, (NH4)6Mo7O24·4H2O, Na2HPO4·12H2O, Mn(CO)5Br as well as transition-metal complexes by the ambient-temperature aqueous solution, which were characterized by X-ray crystallograpy, IR, UV-vis spectra and electrochemical properties.1. Two novel octatungstate-supported tricarbonyl metal comounds: H6[Na(H2O)5]2{[H2W8O30][Mn(CO)3]2}·13H2O (1) and H2[Na(H2O)5]2[Na(H2O)4]2[Na(H2O)2]2{[H2W8O30] [Re(CO)3]2} (2) have been synthesized, which represent the first components for isopolyoxotungstates-supported carbonyl metal compounds. Considering the role of Na+ bridges, 1 and 2 show rare 1-D chain structure and (4,4)-topological network, respectively.2. Two 1-D chain octatungstate-supported tricarbonyl metal compounds [Na(H2O)5]2[Na2(μ2-H2O)2 (H2O)4]2[Mn(H2O)2]{[H2W8O30][Mn(CO)3]2} (3) and H6[Mn(H2O)2]{[H2W8O30][Mn(CO)3]2}·24H2O (4) have been isolated. They are the first examples of carbonyl metal derivatives of Polyoxometalates with multidimensional structures. Compound 4 possesses a 3-D extended structure composed of [Mn(H2O)2]{[H2W8O30][Mn(CO)3]2}6– as building blocks and Na–O bridges.3. A novel tetravacant Keggin-type phosphomolybdate-supported tricarbonyl metal comounds [(CH3)4N]4H6{MnII(PMo8O31)[MnI(CO)3]2}2·14H2O (5) has been synthesized by conventional method, in which two {(PMo8O31)[MnI(CO)3]2}7– polyoxoanions are connected by di-manganese clusters.
