The new developments in modern industries have generated an increasing need for new types of materials. In this respect, the application of titanates as catalytic, photocatalytic, photoelectric, and dielectric materials has shown tremendous promise. Titanates have high hardness, high chemical resistance, and high thermal stability. These oxides have been widely used as ceramics, electronics, catalysts, and coatings.SrTiO3 is a perovskite-type ceramic with unique mechanical, ferroelectric, electro-optic, pyroelectric, dielectric, and elastic properties that find use in multilayered capacitors, random access memories, thermistors, pressure transducers, and waveguide modulators. SrTiO3 is an important photocatalyzer which has excellent catalytic activity. The truncated cubic SrTiO3 crystals were abtained through high pressure flux method. In contrast to conventional methods, the high pressure flux method has many advantages:First of all, the raw materials are stable and facilely obtained, secondly, the alkali flux is conventional and environmental compared with the traditional solvents. The substitution of the conventional liquid containing the organic and sulfate solvents avoids the pollution to the environment because the alkali can be easily recycled. Finally, this reaction can be carried out under very low temperature, so the energy can be saved. In general, this approach is novel and "green", and can be applied into the industry production to improve the manipulation of the process and the efficiency of the raw materials, lower the cost of the production and reduce the environmental pollution. The products were characterized by means of X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, Transmission electron microscope(TEM). In addition, we also investigated the influence of temperature, pressure, time, and method on the morphology of the SrTiO3 crystals. To eliminate environmentally unacceptable compounds, the scientific and engineering interest in the development and application of environmental catalysis has grown exponentially over the past several decades. Doped strontium titanates pholocatalyst is are important area of investigation in environmental catalysis due to their excellent performances and potential applications in organic pollutant transformation and organic matter decomposition. In the current article, the samarium doped strontium titanates were synthesized by Piston-Cylinder high pressure devices at different pressures. We investigated the catalytic activities of various samples for the degradation of MB in aqueous solution under uv-light irradiation The doped SrTiO3 synthesized at 2 GPa produced the catalytic activity for MB degradation. Approximately 83% MB degradation are reached after 2 h of reaction.
