Recently, with China's economic developing, the scale of cities are larger and the population growth, amount of sewage is rapid increase. The discharge of nitrogen and phosphorus are excess the self-cleaning ability of surface water, the eutrophication of rivers lakes and sea are more clearly. Because of eutrophication of water, the frequency of red-tide and water blooms are increased from several times per year last century to dozens of times per year now, and is still growing in the natural environment, aquaculture industry poses a serious threat. Controlling of eutrophication is one of the most effective way to reduce urban sewage nitrogen and phosphorus emissions. After several decades of development, a variety of wastewater nutrient removal technology has been applied, but there are a variety of deficiencies. With the upgrading requirements for environmental protection, urban sewage discharge standards are improved, conventional sewage nutrient removal technology cannot meet the requirements. Because of its unique advantages attention gradually, membrane technology has develop quickly in recent years. Base on membrane technology, Membrane Bio-Reactor process gradually become mainstream. In this paper, a comprehensive study has done, which is the application of MBR technology in municipal sewage nitrogen and phosphorus removal characteristics. From the results, simple MBR technology in municipal wastewater has a good removal of organic matter and phosphorus, but nitrogen removal was not obvious, usually only the ammonia is converted to nitrate nitrogen. Therefore, a improve MBR Technology called A2/O-MBR Process, which is use MBR instead of the oxic zone of the A2/O process, treat municipal sewage nitrogen and phosphorus removal to give the best results, but because of its limits, large area, running poor stability, complex operation and other issues, does not apply to small-scale sewage treatment. Practical engineering applications can be handled under the existing conditions and select the appropriate size of the sewage treatment process to improve the MBR. In MBR technology applications, membrane fouling is a widespread problem, in this paper, pollution control and membrane cleaning membrane regeneration have been researched, the method of cleaning and regeneration, enabling the regeneration and reuse of the membrane.
