Rapid development of bolt support technique promoted reformation of support, bolt support has became main support method and made initial passive support become active support. Though bolt support technology is extended in a large range, prime study and application centre on the roadway support of nearly horizontal and gently inclined seam, roadway support of steep coal seam relatively apply less. In order to determined parameters of support and support method, it's important to study failure mechanism of roadway's surrounding rock in steep coal seam.According to geological condition at -230m level of NO.15 coal seam in Changgouyu mine, take failure mechanism of roadway's surrounding rock in steep coal seam as research object, using these comprehensive study method, such as on-site survey, theory analyzing, test research in laboratory, Numerical Simulation, such these comprehensive study, to study road's roof bedding separation, surface displacement, and failure of surrounding rock in steep seams. Analysis and summary coal roadway support and control, and analyzing ground stress at synclinal shaft of NO.15 coal seam, determined coal roadway support scheme and support parameter in Changgouyu mine, provide guarantee for safety producing in mine.
