Most attention has been paid to the use of that reactor system.Athorough literature survey revealed no research of start-up,biological characteristics of anaerobic granular sludge and controlling methods. Particularly,the study of hydrolysis- acidification process and control have not enough. This paper about HABR reactor characteristics and control technology has been related research work on the basis of experiment.In this dissertation,Hybrid Anaerobic Baffied Reactor(HABR) with five compartments . Wastewater mainly consists of industrial glucose ,urea and KH2PO4. The alkalinity of inlet water was adjusted by the addition of NaHCO3. Research HABR reactor about fast start ,normal operation and dominant population formation.After stability operation of HABR,The studies of hydrolysis-aeidifieation process and controlling methods in an anaerobic baffled reactor. Through the test of organic loads mutations,monitor pH,COD,VFA,gas production,analysis purify function of the each compartment of anaerobic baffled reactor. The study show that:(1) In medium temperature conditions,using the way of adding alkalinity and improving the concentration of COD gradually to start reactor,that experience a month. The remove rate of COD up to 90%,The remove rate of COD in the first chamber is up to 50%. After Stable operation,4 compartment and 5compartment appear black granular sludge,The shape of granular sludge is irregular as globular and Surface is smooth .Using electron microscope to observe microbes in compartments. Front compartments mainly have produce acid bacteria, Front compartments mainly have produce acid bacteria,behind compartments mainly have methanogens. Show the characteristics of phase separation about produce acid phase and methanogenesis.(2) The paper studied the cause and characteristics of hydrolysis– acidification period,and put forward the controlling method of recovered.The result shows that:The first compartment load overload and alkalinity not enough is mainly resourses of hydrolysis–acidification. After reactor acidize,pH,COD,alkalinity and sludge in each compartments have different characteristics compared with the normal operation.When pH down to 3.5~4.5,alkalinity is"0",The remove rate of COD is 56.21%. Restoring by itself is very difficult. Using the methods of lower organic loading and dosing alkaline substances to controlling.After 34d,the reactor can normal operation.(3) Through the study of organic load mutations,analysis the characteristics of PH, COD, VFA and alkalinity. The result shows that:When organic loading change from 5 kg/(m3·d) to 10 kg/(m3·d),the active of methanogens is not big influence.It is show that HABR have good capability of resistanting impact in short time. When organic loading change from 5 kg/(m3·d) to 15 kg/(m3·d),accumulate VFA,cause pH falls,and cause " acidize" in long time,and the remove rate of COD is fall.So ensure enough alkalinity is very necessary.
