In this thesis, reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer radical polymerization (RAFT polymerization), combining with the precipitation polymerization, was used in the preparation of tetracycline imprinted microspheres. In the RAFT polymerization, we selected cumyl dithiobenzoate (CDB) as the chain transfer agent. The CDB was synthesized in the study and the synthetic conditions were discussed. In the RAFTPP, tetracycline was the template and methyl acrylic acid (MAA) as the functional monomer. The tetracycline imprinted microspheres were characterized and evaluated by different method. The sulfur content of the polymer was determined by oxygen flask combustion. The equilibrium binding experiment indicated that tetracycline imprinted polymers had a greater adsorption capacity than that of non-imprinted polymer, which showed the imprinted effect. The HPLC was used to evaluate the selectivity of the synthesized polymers. The influence of HPLC condition on the retentive ability of the tracycline imprinted polymer was also studied.
