Air particles, also named aerosol, is a floating system formed by solid particles or droplets in gas medium. The chemical constitutes of air particles are variable with complicated source, the mass concentration and chemical constituents of which has an intimate connection with the morbidity rate and death rate of every disease, especially heart disease and respiratory system. Due to chemical constituents can disperse and absorb light, it has certain impact on atmosphere visibility as well as weather and turns out to be the firstly-counted pollutant. Therefore, we should timely take actions to prevent and curb the air particles pollution—firstly, analyse the characteristics of chemical constituents of air particles in local area; then get down to the research about its sources in order to make up corresponding measures to curb and put the pollution under control. For this topic, we collected air particle samples from the five sampling sites in Jincheng City during September to December in 2010, which includes TSP We had an analysis of TSP in terms of mass concentration, inorganic elements, water soluble ions, carbon elements, together with the polluting characteristics of air particles in Jincheng City. we also explained the source of Jincheng City's air particles by means of enrichment factors and CMB.The study of chemical constitutes of particles indicates that the mass concentration of most inorganic elements in Jincheng City is much higher in 2006 than in 2010, whereas elements like Fe, Mn, Pb, As etc. resulted from industrial pollution and automotive vehicles don't change much as the season turns; the mass concentration of inorganic elements in TSP and PM10 turn out to be lowest in contract spot Baima temple while show no big difference in other spots. The mass concentration of ions Cl-,NO3-,SO42- in TSP rank a bit higher:it is higher in 2006 than in 2010 for NO3-,SO42- during heating period, The ratio of NO3 and SO42- in TSP comes out less than 1, which means ions in city mainly originate from stable pollution source (bunker coal dust). However, the impact of mobile pollution source can't be ignored. The percentage of mass concentration of carbon in TSP reaches 20%, which shows lowest in contract spot Baima temple while shows no such a distinguishing difference in other spots. And both the ratio of OC and EC in and TSP is no more than 2, indicating that there hardly exists any SOC in the air particles of Jin city.In the research of enrichment factors, the enrichment factors of elements like Ca,Cu,Zn,Pb,Co,Cd,Hg is higher than 10 between 2006 and 2010, which expresses these elements not only comes from lithosphere, but also from human factor. The CMB model theory, which explains the origin of air particles in Jin city, shows that, coal ash, automobile vehicle emission turn out to be the mam sources.
