Titanium dioxide has very good application prospects in many areas. However, prepared titanium dioxide in our country are all backward in technology, needs to import large quantities of titanium dioxide to meet the needs of the market, so how fast and easy to prepare high quality titanium dioxide is particularly important. Gaseous detonation (deflagration) method to synthesize TiO2 nanoparticles which use mixture gas as the explosion source, the titanium tetrachloride as the precursor is a new method to synthesize nano materials. It is not only simple operation, high purity and good dispersion, but also can continuous and pure rutile can be obtained. This paper is mainly research the law of nano titanium dioxide synthesized by gaseous detonation (deflagration), and improved its defect.In the experiment which use hydrogen-oxygen gases mixture as the explosion source and the titanium tetrachloride as the precursor to synthesize titanium dioixde nanoparticles, under the same external environment, through fixing the mol ratio of the two raw materials and adjusting the mol of the other raw material explore the influence of nanoparticles. TiO2 ultrafine particles were charactered by properties of XRD and TEM. The result shows that the grain is spherical, the size is about 30-200 nm and the distribution was uniformity, dispersion is good. The relative content of rutile has certain trend to change.For the limitation of higher temperature requirements for equipment in the experiments above, this paper is also studied the detonation (deflagration) method to prepare TiO2 nanoparticles which use mixture gas of alcohol and oxygen as the explosion source and the titanium tetrachloride as the precursor. The result shows that when titanium tetrachloride dissolves in alcohol, it can gasification completely at lower temperatures, consequently it can significantly reduce the requirements for the experimental temperature, which lay a solid foundation for TiO2 nanoparticles prepared by gaseous detonation in industry. It shows that grain is smaller (about 20-30nm) and more uniform than the above method, and pure rutile is obtained.The article also aim at the weaknesses of single-pass detonation (deflagration) prepared nanoparticles, such as long time of single process, a small amount of product, etc. The experiment preliminary explore the feasibility of continuous detonation (deflagration) product nano-powders. Through the design of the equipment and experiments, found that consecutive detonation (deflagration) to prepare nano titanium dioxide is feasible.
