Boron sludge is a kind of boron industry waste which raises substantial environmental concerns. Along with the development of industrial of boron and large demand for borax, more and more boron sludge was let out. In order to make full use of boron sludge this secondary resource, many experts and scholars did experiments on it. The research focus mainly on taking full advantage of its components for the preparation of building materials, agricultural fertilizers, refractories, wastewater treatment and so on. In this thesis, a lightweight foam material was prepared by boron sludge as the raw material. And the effects of the different raw materials, sintering temperature and the amount of foam addition on the properties of the foam material were studied. The main contents are as follows:(1) Preparation of foam material based on boron sludge. The foam material was prepared by adding pore former method with boron sludge as the raw material. The effect of the pore former addition on the apparent density, compression strength and porosity were studied. When the addition amount of the pore former is 4%, the apparent porosity is over 20% and the compression strength over 9.5 MPa. A new foam material was prepared by slurry bubble method with boron sludge as the raw material. The effects of sintering temperature, foam addition and different flux agents on the performance were studied. The apparent porosity is 69% and the compression strength over 1.6 MPa.(2) Preparation of foam material based on boron sludge and fly ash by slurry bubble method. The effects of raw material and addition agent on the performance were studied. The apparent density, apparent porosity, compression strength and thermal conductivity are 0.695 g/cm3,72.3%,7.91 MPa and 0.1866 W/m·K. So the foam material can be used as fireproofing and heat preservation material.(3) Preparation of foam material based on acid-treated boron sludge by slurry bubble method. The effects of sintering temperature, foam addition and alkali activator on the performance were studied. The apparent density, apparent porosity and compression strength are 0.9 g/cm3,66.39% and 6.5 MPa.(4) Preparation of foamed magnesium oxychloride cement with activation boron sludge, firming agent and other addition agents. The effect of CMC as the addition agent on the performance was studied.
