Ion chromatography has been widely used in environmental monitoring, food analysis, drug analysis, clinical examination, energy geological monitoring and other aspects, which has many advantages such as simple pretreatment, various ions separation inspection, shot analysis time, sample consumption, high sensitivity and selectivity, low detection limit, easy to realize automation. IC has become a standard method of many common ion analysis studies, including inorganic anions, inorganic cations, organic acids, organic alkali, amine kind, sugars, amino acids, etc. This paper mainly consists of two sections. The first one is reviewed of the development of ion chromatography origin, instrument principle and ion chromatography in recent years in the anion and organic acids studies.the research reports were given in the second section, which is composed as follows:(1 Simultaneous Determination of F-,Cl-,NO2-,Br-,NO3-,HPO42-,SO42-in soil samples by Ion Chromatography; (2) Determination of Shikimic acid in Illicium verum Hook.f. by Ion Chromatography with Suppressed Conductivity Detection; (3) Simultaneous Determination of Sodium Hexametaphosphate and Phosphate in Tea by Ion Chromatography with Suppressed Conductivity Detection.1.Simultaneous Determination of F-,Cl-,NO2-,Br-,NO3-,HPO42-,SO42-in soil samples by Ion ChromatographyA method was developed for the simultaneous and fast determination of F-,Cl-,NO2-,Br-,NO3-,HPO42-,SO42-in soil samples by Ion Chromatography with suppressed conductivity detector. The chromatographic separation was established on Metrohm A supp 4 (4×250 mm) anion exchange column, using 2.5 mmol/L Na2CO3+ 1.7mmol/L NaHCO3 at 0.8mL/min in flow rate. The corresponding detection limits of 0.0016mg/L,0.0032 mg/L,0.0047 mg/L,0.0074 mg/L,0.0076 mg/L,0.0115 mg/L. 0.0086 mg/L were achieved under the optimal conditions, the RSDs for the six consecutive determinations were 1.24%-4.08%(n=6) and the average recovery percentages of the sample detection were 90.5%-102.8%。The method provides the advantage of fast and effective, simple preprocessing of soil samples, lower detection limit, good precision and reliable results of determination2. Determination of Shikimic acid in Illicium verum Hook.f. by Ion Chromatography with Suppressed Conductivity DetectionA method for determination of Shikimic acid in Illicium verum Hook.f. by Ion Chromatography with Suppressed Conductivity Detection was established. The chromatographic separation was established in Metrohm A supp 4 (4×250 mm) anion exchange column, using 1.8 mmol/L Na2CO3+1.7 mmol/L NaHCO3 at 0.8 mL/min of flow rate. The total analysis time is 15 min. The standard curve was linear in the concentration range 1~100 mg/L and the correlation coefficient was 0.9993. The detection limits of 0.02~0.8 mg/L were achieved under the optional Chromatography conditions. The RSD of peak area for the six consecutive determinations was 1.04%, and the RSD of reserve time was 0.47%. The average recovery percentages of the sample detection were 97.3%-98.9%. The method provides the advantage of fast determination, simple preprocessing and reliable results of determination.3. Simultaneous Determination of Sodium Hexametaphosphate and Phosphate in Tea by Ion Chromatography with Suppressed Conductivity DetectionA method was developed for simultaneous determination of sodium hexametaphosphate and phosphate in tea by ion chromatography with suppressed conductivity detection. Metrohm A supp 4 (4×250mm) anion exchange column was selected as the separation column,4.0 mmol/L Na2CO3+1.7 mmol/L NaOH+3% acetone were used as the eluent at 0.8mL/min and suppressed conductivity detection. The detection limits of sodium hexametaphosphate and phosphate achieved under the optimal conditions are 0.035mg/L,0.018mg/L (20μL injection, using the peak area for the quantitative analysis). The RSDs of peak area for the six consecutive determinations of the mixed standard solution were 2.29%-1.53%, the RSDs of reserve time were 0.95%-0.47%. The recovery percentages of the samples detection were 95.3%-102.3%. The method is simple with pretreatment and reliable, referenced for practical applications of food hygiene inspection and monitoring.
