Surface plasmon resonance-based sensor has several advantages like high sensitivity.fast detection, less sample needed and lable-free analysis. However, most SPR instruments have the disadvantage of complex structure, huge physical volume and high cost.Meanwhile, Localized surface plasmon resonance-based sensor was made, used widely in biology sensing due to its good biology affinity. Its cost is lower and is portable, however, the sensitivity is lower. Therefore, sensor which combine those two technology will provide a wider use in every field.Recently, the interaction of those two technology was studied. The gold nanoparticles is difficult to be oxidated and good at combining with biological molecule but their sensitivity is bad, while the properties of the silver nanopaticles are opposite. If these two materials are used at the same time, all of the advantages could be kept. Therefore,a structure called "gold nanopaticle-embedded silver film"which overlap a layer of silver film on single layer gold nanoparticles was proposed. The surface plasmon resonance of this structure was detected.we used Frens' method to get the gold colloid.deposit it in single layer on glass slide. On top of that, we deposit a silver film.
