This study was carried out on the different mechanism of organic carbon form and composition distribution in the sediments of the HuLun lake in which eastern Inner Mongolia Plateau. Based on the theories of Biogeochemistry, Environmental Geochemistry, Environmental Chemistry and Modern Sedimentology. Analysis the sources of organic matter in sediments, The results are described as follows:1. For the first time to carry out the composition and combining form of organic matter in the sediments, discussing the contribution from the different composition and combing form of organic carbon to the lake carbon cycle. The result shows that the organic carbon in sediments from Hulun Lake is stable.2. The PQ value and the ratio of HA/FA can reflect the degree of humification. The higher of degree of humification is small contribution to the carbon cycle.3. Building up the calendar-depth mode in HLH3 core, the sequence of organic carbon-age in the HLH3 core shows that in the past 1800 years, changes in climate and environmental in these basin are corresponding to the two cold waves in the little ice age. 4. According to the ratio of TOC/TN, the organic matter in the sediments apparently comes from double sources. The stations including HLH21,HLH26,HLH30,HLH34, which near the edge of lake, are mostly from the terrestrial higher plants, HLH 23,HLH27,HLH33, which in the middle of lake, are mostly from the hydrophytes of the lake.5. The lower TOC/TN and TOC/TP reflect that the Hulun Lake has the Characteristics of high-latitude lakes.
