Late transition metalladithiolene with planar ring structures have attracted much attention because of the potential application in single-molecule magnets, nonlinear optical materials and superconducting materials derived from their redox activity, deep color, magnetic properties, and the quasi-aromaticity and electronic unsaturation of the metalladithiolene ring.In this thesis, mono-nuclear cobaltadithiolene complex [Cp*CoS2C6H2(S-C3H7)2]â… and conjugated binuclear cobaltadithiolene complex [(Cp*Co)2(S2-C6H2 S2)2]â…¡were prepared according to the literature. Then, five new cobalta-dithiolene multinuclear cluster complexes 1-5 were obtained by reaction ofâ… andâ…¡with Fe3(CO)12, Ru3(CO)12, [Mo(CO)3(py)3]and Ru(CO)3(CH=CCH2Br), respectively. All new cluster complexes were characterized by C/H analysis, MS,1H NMR and IR spectroscopy. Furthermore, the electrochemical and optical properties of some complexes were also determined by CV analysis and UV-vis spectra.Compared the UV-vis spectra of cluster complexes 1-5 with that of complexesâ… andâ…¡, the blue shift phenomenon were observed in the visible region. In the CV of 4, three couples of reduction and reoxidation waves were observed. The result implies that complex 4 may be undergoing a three-step, single-electron reversible redox process and the Co···Co electronic interaction could be transmitted by the Mo atom and the conjugated S2C6H2S2 units.
