Organic-inorganic layered perovskite-type hybrids are sort of molecular material withunique structures by combining organic and inorganic units in a certain way. In rencent yesrsit arouse interest by integrating useful characteristics organic and inorganic compounds on amolecular level. The inorganic component forms an extended framework bound by strongcovalent ionic interactions, which is filled with the organic component, and thus the organiclayer and inorganic layer are alternately stacked. The materials have unique properties such aselectronic,optic and magnetic properties. It is a new kind of functional material.In this paper, a series of layered perovskite-type organic-inorganic hybrids[NH3(CH2)nNH3]CuCl4 (n=2,3,5,6,7) were synthesized and their constitute were studied byelemental analysis. XRD was used to characterize the structure. [NH3(CH2)nNH3]CuCl4 withhigh degree of crystallinity was indicated by XRD experiment.The results show that linearalkyl amines are not perpendicular to the inorganic layer but diagonal by caculating. Theangle is 42°. Thermochromatic and revesible endothermic and exothermic for solid-solidphase transiformation have been studied. It is found that these hybrids have obviousdiscoloration phenomenon about -20℃-16℃. DSC methed was used to validateethylenediamine tetrachlorocuprate transaition peak. It restore intrinsic at roomtemperature.And It has been proved to be a kind of low-temparature revesiblethermochomic materials.The kinetics of thermal degradation of [NH3(CH2)2NH3]CuCl4 were investigated bythermal analysis. The multi-heating rate method Kissinger , Ozawa as well as thesigle-heating method Achar and Coast-Redfern were applied to determine the apparentactivation energy Ea and pre-exponential factor lnA of thermal decomposition. The mostprobable kinetic model function was suggested by comparison of two ways. The two stepthermal decomposition mechanisms of hybrid are Two-dimensional diffusion,2D,n=2 andReaction order,Chemical reactionIt has been proved to be a kind of low-temparature revesible thermochomic materials.
