In recent years, pollution of agricultural environment becomes more and more serious, which restrict the sustainable development of agriculture and endanger people's health. Protection of the agricultural planting base environment is important to guarantee the quality safety of agricultural products, and soil and irrigation water are the two vital factors that affect the quality safety. There are ten different towns in Changping District involved in the study, which are Nanshao Town, Shane Town, and Machikou Town. After detecting the various quality index in soil and water, the environment quality were divided into several levels according to the national standards and relevant industry standards. The soil quality were divided into four levels, which were Level-1 (Optimal), Level-2 (Good), Level-3 (Qualified) and Level-4 (Unqualified). The irrigation water quality were divided into three levels, which were Level-1 (Optimal), Level-2 (Qualified) and Level-3 (Unqualified). On the base of the quality of soil and irrigation water, the general environmental quality of the farmland were calculated and divided into Level-1 (Optimal), Level-2 (Qualified) and Level-3 (Unqualified). The single pollution index method and combined pollution index method were used to evaluate the soil and irrigation water quality in different areas and different agricultural planting base in Changping District. The main results and conclusions obtained as follows:1. The combined pollution index of general environmental quality of the ten towns in Changping District was 0.810, and the combined evaluation was Level-1 (Optimal). The combined pollution index of 301 soil samples was 1.142, and the combined evaluation was Level-2 (Good), which meet the needs of Chinese environmental technical terms for green food production area.207 of the soil samples met the requirement of Level-1 standard (GB15618-1995), which accounted for 68.8% of the soil samples. The number that met the Level-2 standard (NY/T931-2000) were 83, which accounted for 27.6%. There were 10 soil samples that met the Level-3 standard (NY5010-2002), which accounted for 3.3%. However,1 of the soil samples came up to level-4 standard (unqualified), which accounted for 0.3%. The combined pollution index of 43 water samples was 0.194, and the combined evaluation was Level-1 (Optimal). All pollutants concentration in the irrigation water met the needs of Chinese irrigation water quality standards (GB5084—92), which meant that all the irrigation water reached the Level-1.2. In the vegetable base, the combined pollution index of general environmental quality in Changping District was 0.938, and the combined evaluation was Level-1 (Optimal). The combined pollution index of 34 soil samples from the vegetable base was 1.296, the combined evaluation was Level-2 (Good). There were 16,16 and 2 of the soil samples respectively met the requirement of level-1, Level-2 and Level-3 standard, which accounted for 47.1%,47.1% and 5.8%, respectively. None of the soils came up to the Level-4 or was unqualified. The combined pollution index of 10 water samples in the vegetable base was 0.273, and the combined evaluation was Level-1 (Optimal). All pollutants concentration in the irrigation water met the needs of Chinese irrigation water quality standards and irrigation water was the clear. 3. In the strawberry base, the combined pollution index of general environmental quality in Changping District was 0.665, and the combined evaluation was Level-1 (Optimal). The combined pollution index of 224 soil samples from the strawberry base was 0.916, and the combined evaluation was Level-1 (Optimal). There were 174,43,6 and 1 of the samples respectively met the requirement of Level-1, Level-2, Level-3 and Level-4 standard, which accounted for 77.7%,19.2%,2.68% and 0.45%, respectively. The combined pollution index of 16 water samples was lower than 1, and the combined evaluation was Level-1 (Optimal). All pollutants concentration in the irrigation water met the Chinese irrigation water quality standard.4. In the orchards, the combined pollution index of general environmental quality in Changping District was 0.920, and the combined evaluation was Level-1 (Optimal). The combined pollution index of 43 soil samples from the orchards was 1.316, and the combined evaluation was Level-2. There were 17,24 and 2 of the soil samples respectively met the requirement of Level-1, Level-2 and Level-3 standard, which account for 39.5%,55.8% and 4.7% respectively. None of the soil was unqualified. The single pollution index and combined pollution index of 17 water samples were lower than 1, so the combined evaluation was Level-1 (Optimal). All pollutants concentration in the irrigation water of the 17 orchards also met the requirement of Chinese irrigation water quality standard. The results provide scientific basis and data for the construction of pollution-free vegetables planting base, the prejudgement and control of the soil environment quality, and the prevent of soil pollution.
