Due to their unique properties and wide potential applications of functional materials and nanodevices, S-based nano-materials attract a large number of researchers. In Particular, a great deal of work focused on the improvement and innovation of Quantum dot synthesis methods of ZnS/ZnO heterostructures, PbS, CdS and Bi2S3 semiconductors QDs. Various properties of research, performance improvement and Promote their application in all fields are also interesting. The articles prepare some important S-based QDs by solvothermal or precipitation, and lots of constructive exploratory research on optical properties and applications.First, this paper combining the preparation technique of quantum dots and the properties of precursors to synthesize ZnS/ZnO QDs by simple and maneuverable way .The ZnS/ZnO QDs didn't grow larger at high temperature and under high pressure. But the PL excitation/emission peaks red-shift and the half-bandwidth of the spectra is wider. The quantum efficiency of Rhodamine B (97%)as a standard to measure ZnS/ZnO quantum dots and the quantum efficiency of ZnS/ZnO QDs is as high as 57%. We measure the ZnS/ZnO QDs and find they have a quite stability by putting them in the atmosphere. We have a deep research and discussion on the ZnS/ZnO QDs through many different characterization methods. Meanwhile, our paper also demonstrates the preparation technique of other CdSe, CdS and CdTe/ZnS etc, are applied in the area , but it hiders their wider use because of their toxicity, high price and environmental contamination. Thus, the novel ZnS/ZnO@SiO2 QDs deal with these problems. Furthermore, we coat the PbS, CdS and Bi2S3 QDs on the Silicon chip to prepare quantum dots sensitized silicon solar cells by drop coating, spin coating and chemical deposition. The layer of quantum dots mainly plays a role of reflection, passive and sensitization. On one hand, it can reduce the cost of preparing the antireflection coating technology. On the other hand, the solar energy that quantum dots have been absorbed can be converted to optical carriers and output the external circuit to improve the photoelectric conversion efficiency of the solar cells. Hence it largely reduces the cost of the unit kilowatt-hour, and promotes their further application.sulfur-based QDs such as PbS, CdS and Bi2S3. Secondly, this paper shows a route to coat the novel ZnS/ZnO QDs with SiO2, so the ZnS/ZnO @SiO2 QDs become water-soluble, and these quantum dots can greatly promote the combination of stilbene and CBPP.
