In this study, we formulated a gelatinized starch (GS) preparation methods, combining it with the starch, thermoplastic starch in a various contrast. Studies the mechanical properties and thermal properties of PLA/GS blend. Studies the mechanical properties, thermal properties and rheology properties of PLA and TPS blends.Copolymers of poly (1actic acid) grafted with starch were directly prepared by in-situ reaction of sweet potato starch with lactic acid in aqueous media in the presence of stannous 2-ethyl hexanoate[Sn (Oct) 2], with the react condition of 0.08-0.09MPa and temperature 100℃. The resultant PLA-g-starch was characterized by FTIR.1H-NMR and 13C-NMR. Based on the Beer-Lambert's law (MLB), the grafting ratio of PLA is calculated as 5.7%by baseline. The procedure of the graft reaction was elucidated. Based on the HPLC analysis, as the ring-opening polymerization (ROP) from starch of the small amounts of lactide produced in-situ in the reaction system. The PLA-g-st was added to polylactic acid and thermoplastic starch blending system. Studies its mechanical properties and coMPatibility of the blends. The results found that added PLA-g-st allows the blending product mechanical properties increased. CoMPare the samples cross-sectional of SEM with or without the addition of PLA-g-st in PLA/TPS blend, it can be clearly seen that with the addition of PLA-g-st, the materials section microscopic structure wer more evenly. Therefore, the PLA-g-st can effectively increase the coMPatibility of polylactic acid/thermoplastic starch blends.
