ABO3 (CdMnO3, NiBO3) type semiconductor oxide photocatalytic materials were successfully synthesized by solid-state sintering method. The physical properties and photocatalytic properties of CdMnO3 and NiB03 were investigated, using XRD, XPS, SEM-EDS, TEM and UV-VIS diffuse reflectance spectrum. The results showed that CdMnO3 was single phase, crystallized with triclinic crystal system, space group P1 and NiBO3 was also single phase, crystallized with hexagonal crystal system, space group P6. The band gaps of CdMnO3 and NiB03 were 1.5 and 1.74 eV, respectively. Theoretically, the band gaps of CdMnO3 and NiBO3 extend to the visible light area, own the visible light irradiation response and can be used to degrade organics.CdMnO3 was employed for degrading Azocarmine G, Alizarin yellow GG and Nuclear fast red tests under visible light irradiation. It was found that CdMnO3 had good degradation effects to the three kinds of dyes. To research degradation effects with different variables, we adopted single variable method and discovered that catalyst dosage, solution pH value, solution initial concentration and the time of light irradiation influenced the final degradation effect. After degrading Azocarmine G, the descent rate of TOC was always lower than the descent rate of solution concentration in the whole reaction process, indicating that the photodegradation intermediates of Azocarmine G probably appeared during the photocatalytic reaction process.NiBO3 was employed for degrading Nuclear fast red test under visible light irradiation. It was also found that NiB03 had good degradation effect to this dye.
