With the rapid development of the economic of China and the energy crisis deepens increasingly, the process integration method becomes a hot topic. As the most practical one of the process integration method, the pinch technology is in larger useage.This article describes the fundamental theory of the pinch technology, and analyzes the application of principles to be followed. Three specific process—the refinery hydrorefining process, the refinery hydrodesulfurization process, and CO2 capture from power plant flue gas purification process in the process industry were selected, that were analyzed and transformed by pinch technology.In this paper, the refinery hydrorefining process is analyzed by pinch technology, found the existence of irrational use of energy and the energy-saving potential of up to 63%. According to the principles of pinch point, the heat exchanger network design has been modified and optimized, saving the heating utility quantities 5541.68 kW, getting by-product steam 7.1 MW, saving 32,236,500 yuan annual in total;The refinery hydrodesulfurization process is analyzed by pinch technology, found the existence of irrational use of energy and the energy-saving potential of up to 29.3%. There is sufficient space saving. According to the principles of pinch point, the heat exchanger network design has been modified and optimized, saving the heating utility quantities 541.56 kW, saving 3.3436 million yuan annual in total;Energy consumption of CO2 capture and purification from power plant flue gas is large, pinch analysis shows that the energy-saving potential is 10%. There is the existence of irrational use of energy. According to the principles of pinch point, the heat exchanger network design has been modified and optimized, saving the heating utility quantities 511.77 kW, saving cooling costs 2.0003 million yuan each year and getting annual multi-generation 5.597×108 kW·h.
