Drilling fluid need to add as preservative, flocculation agent, pH control agent, lubricants, aggravating agent chemical agents, and these drilling fluid produces waste drilling cuttings and mud which if not processed and directly discharged will be a threat to the environment. In view of this, this paper made in-depth study on risk control technology of abandoned drilling cuttings.This paper firstly investigates the current main drilling cuttings processing technology in domestic and international,analyzes its characteristics, and its development trend.Through the hazard identification of abandoned drilling cuttings,find its hazards. analyzing the harmful substance content contains in the drilling cuttings which produce in main domestic oilfield, and combines with the world's major countries about the drilling cuttings emissions laws and regulations, and drilling cuttings are the threat to environment and human life. Realize the necessity of controlling the poisonous and harmful material contain in the waste drilling cut-tings,and make simple quantitative calculation and analysis of the yield of the waste drilling cuttings.In combination with drilling technique situation in China and the current abandoned drilling cuttings processing technology, Design the process that drying the abandoned drilling cuttings in the drilling fields, the oil-base drilling cuttings of the dry drilling cuttings do ther-mal desorption processing. So the treated waste drilling cuttings can achieve the national reg-ulations of the prescribed discharge standards. So it can eliminate drill mud pools and lower the drilling cost.At last, make selection of the key equipment in the process.In order to guar-antee the abandoned drilling cuttings process can be safely and reliably, according to the technological characteristics and evaluation methods of using range ,we use preliminary hazard analysis(PHA) and fault tree analysis(FTA) and fault modes , effect and criticality analysis(FMECA) integration method analyse the drilling cuttings drier process,and make the waste oil-base drilling cuttings thermal desorption process do the Dow chemical analysis, an-alyse the fire and explosion dangerous level of this process,and the safety of this process. According to the evaluation results, put forward safety countermeasures to the weak links of the process, in order to ensure the system can operate safely and reliably.
